RIDES

Peninsula Agency on Aging, Inc. (PAA) is committed to advocating for policies and resources to enhance the quality of life for older adults and family caregivers. PAA provides Human Services, and Nutritional Services in addition to transportation.  PAA is a designated Area Agency on Aging and is an independent non-profit 501 (3) (c) organization that has operated on the Virginia Peninsula for over fifty years in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, James City County, Poquoson and York County.

RIDES transportation program that serves the Greater Williamsburg area is innovative and utilizes wheelchair accessible vans to transport older adults, aged 60 and older, to non-emergency medical appointments. The program is available to non-driving seniors who have no access to public transportation, cannot afford private transportation or are not eligible for medicaid transportation.

Transportation is available for non-emergency medical appointments at no cost to the older adult.

The Williamsburg Invitational Car Show is a charity event.  The Colony Auto Enthusiasts produces this car show to raise funds to support RIDES Transportation Services. Funds are raised through car registration fees, voluntary donations, sponsor contributions, and from the club treasury. All funds raised after expenses are presented to RIDES no later than one month after the show. Since selecting RIDES in 2017 as our charity partner, this annual event has allowed us to donate over $11,500.
